Consultation is the key to making clients feel like they are in safe hands. Even regular clients who generally have the same cut or colour have a thorough consultation on each visit. It's also important to make suggestions and give clients plenty of ideas. Most people look for guidance when they visit the salon and love to hear how the latest trends can be adapted to suit them.

My first visit today, absolute heaven! Lovely reception welcomed and not kept waiting. Beautiful salon with basins that actually come to you! A friendly, positive and happy stylist spent a good 10 minutes discussing my ideas and hair type and recommended a good conditioner for my dry ends. Massage at the basin and lovely fluffy towels, and a magazine! Really happy with my cut and even got a few tips on how to blow dry my curls. We even discussed the possibility of colour in the future. I had complete trust and felt relaxed with the stylist, had a good giggle, and left feeling really positive. I have been going to Blue Boar for many years now and would not consider going anywhere else. It is small and friendly, and highly professional with excellent stylists and colourists. I have never been kept waiting in all the times I have been there, and you are really treated like an individual. It is a haven of calm and relaxation in Oxford with coffee and tea supplied too! It is not the cheapest place in Oxford, but it is well worth it if you want an excellent cut and/or colour in pleasant, stylish surroundings and really interested staff.
